註釋Apologia Pro Vita Sua (A Defence of One's Own Life), was written by John Henry Newman in 1864 defending his religious opinions, after he quit as the Anglican vicar of St. Mary's, Oxford. Newman was one of the most important religious figures of the 19th century, and became a cardinal after he converted to Catholicism. He was canonised as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church in 2019.
