Debuting the 2012 DDI Guide; the definitive reference for ARV Drug Interactions. This resource uses full color charts to cross-reference all ARV's with hundreds of commonly prescribed concomitant medications. The management of HIV infection is rapidly evolving and becoming increasingly complex. In many cases, the medication profile of patients is extensive and complex. As a result, there is a high potential for clinically significant drug interaction. Computerized pharmacy systems can detect some drug-drug interactions and decrease the number of inappropriate prescriptions. However, a limitation of such system is the inability to update the information beyond the FDA approved labeling.
The goal of this book is to present a practical approach to the management of drug interactions to clinicians caring for HIV-infected patients. Also, since many drug combinations have not been formally studied, the authors attempt to predict potential drug interaction based on pharmacologic principle
