Using the Geology of the Santa Fe Region to Teach Earth Science Concepts to High School Students
註釋Earth sciences and geology are 'field' courses because what students learn can easily be applied and reinforced by real-life experiences. This project consists of a field guide earth science unit that has been adapted to use the local geology of the Santa Fe area to teach and reinforce high school earth science concepts. The unit consists of various in-class experiments and activities that discuss the rock cycle and the three rock types. This information is then applied in three local "hikes" or fields excursions in which students utilize concepts such as mapping, rock identification and formation, and outcrop drawing to gain an understanding of earth processes and local geology
