Some Notes for Physicians Contemplating a Career in Palliative and Person-Centered Care
註釋Eduardo Bruera, MD is Professor and Chair of Palliative, Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Fueled by his passion for the assessment, management, and care for the physical and psychosocial distress of patients with advanced cancer and the support of their families, Dr. Bruera has made a significant impact on the field of Palliative and Supportive Care. This is demonstrated by his numerous publications, invited lectures, and grant awards, along with his establishment of one of the first academic palliative care fellowships in the United States. To celebrate his 40th anniversary after medical school graduation, Dr. Bruera wrote about the many learnings and experiences thus far in his palliative medicine career. This short book is intended to provide insights and guidance to junior physicians entering the field of palliative medicine, but could also be helpful to any physician focused on person-centered care.
