This report presents the results of a statistical analysis of the fretting wear behaviour of bruce 37 element fuel bundles subject to nominal (100 percent) and 115 percent single phase water flow. the wear data were obtained from endurance tests conducted by aecl at power projects sheridan park(1,2). results of previous analyses indicate that the fretting wear behaviour of spacer pairs can be effectively described by considering both mean wear rates and maximum accumulated wear. a mean wear rate analysis is useful for establishing a wear trend as a function of time, whereas the more important maximum wear analysis is an effective means of predicting possible bundle failure.
