Thor Krogan signed on to his first whaling expedition in the Antarctic, not knowing what he would find. He's thrilled by the chase, sickened by the destruction of the huge animals, and then watches whaling fever grow in the crew. The ship sails further into ice-bound seas, the so-called secret refuge of the whales. Without warning, the whales disappear and a series of fatal accidents begins.
