註釋Over the past two decades, British artist Tony Foster has trekked across the world, capturing its changing faces in a series of heroic watercolors. Painting on-site, often under difficult circumstances, Foster creates works that are part artistic vision and part naturalist observation. The rain forests of Costa Rica, the volcanic island of Montserrat, Bolivia's mile-high lakes, the slopes of the Sierra Nevada and the Cascade mountain ranges, and the scorching desert of Death Valley have all been subjects of his explorations. Foster's work is a mix of landscape painting and written notation, often enlivened with sketches of flora and fauna or the occasional found object.
