Foreign-born Therapists Practicing in the United States
註釋This case study describes the use of an on-line survey in a dissertation study designed to explore the relationship between acculturation, language proficiency, and supervision to counseling self-efficacy among foreign-born therapists currently practicing in the United States. An on-line survey was chosen because the study population was in the entire United States and because of the low cost involved in conducting an on-line survey. Obstacles when using this method include difficulty reaching out and engaging potential candidates and participants not completing surveys. Strategies to overcome these obstacles are discussed as well as general and practical lessons learned in the process of conducting the survey.
