Sedimentation Patterns and Tectonic Controls of Early to Middle Pennsylvanian Rocks, South-central-eastern Kentucky
註釋Within the study area, the Middlesboro Member of the Lee Formation grades northwestward into the Hensley Member of the Lee, a unit that overlies the Middlesboro farther to the southeast. The Rockcastle Sandstone Member of the Lee Formation exposed along the Cumberland Escarpment appears to be equivalent, in part, to the Bee Rock and Nease Members of the Lee, two members exposed in the Pine and Cumberland Mountain areas of southeastern Kentucky. In all cores examined, no evidence of a gradational Mississippian-Pennsylvanian systemic boundary was found.
