註釋Pierre (Peter) Chastain (ca. 1662-1728) fled from France to Switzerland and later to England. He, along with his first wife and five children, arrived at the mouth of the James River in 1700. He had two more wives and several other children, who lived in (then) Goochland County, Virginia where he died. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana and elsewhere.
