Dire Endings
註釋Tragedies cause tears and create sorrow. But it takes many tragedies strung together to lead to dire endings.

This is a true story about Sylvaine and the forty-year pathway leading to a dark ending. Beginning with her lavish, free-wielding lifestyle as a Belgian diplomat and Baroness searching for love in Brussels and meeting this writer, me. Then, marriage, children, four kidnappings, viscous criminal allegations, an intriguing murder plot, multiple arrests, a fleeing felon chase on Amtrak into the bowels of New York's JFK airport, years of hiding, a crippling auto accident, on to her final alienation from her children.

Here, reproduced letters, photos, documents, and vivid accounts track Sylvaine, our children, me, and the long string of tumultuous events. On her deathbed, denying a visit from her daughter, she passed away as an abandoned, lonely, crippled cancer victim and a wanted felon. What suffering, mentally and physically, had she endured?

Here, I recount my memories, facts, and emotions surrounding this dire string of events; but I shall always try to understand 'what happened, ' 'why, ' and what my role truly was in this story.

In my search to find meaning, I recently began a deep dive into philosophy, psychology, and the history of us humans - people topics, not the engineering and software pursuits of my past.

Blending this new knowledge with some philosophical insight has enabled me to design unique software that emulates human cognitive function.

These realms of thought shed light on the 'why' question by explaining and demonstrating how human brains work and why they do what they do.Dire Endings
